libgutenprint-dev software package provides development files for the Gutenprint printer driver library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgutenprint-dev
libgutenprint-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgutenprint-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgutenprint-dev *
You will get with libgutenprint-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
